As it is known fact that the chain of rape with the Christian girls is continuing and on every day basis the Christian girls in Punjab and its sub-urban areas are facing brutality and disgrace in the name of rape and sexual assault.
Tarfa younis d/o younis Masih is the Victim of the brutality that is happening in everyday life in Punjab. Tarfa is an Orphan girl of about 11-12 years of age and after the death of her parents in an accident in 2005 she was dependent upon her Elder brothers Shamaun and Asif Masih while one of her Elder sister Asma is married. Shamaun and Asif Masih are also married having three children each. On 08-01-14 she was sold to Bashir aged 55 years for 1, 50,000 PKR by her elder brothers Shamaun and Asif. Bashir made a fake marriage certificate and sexually assaulted little Orphan girl for 4months. It was not the only crime he was doing. But Arshad his nephew also used to rape Tarfa. According to Tarfa, “they both come in different timings. Rashid is married and he also have Children. When Bashir leaves the room after doing forceful sexual course with me then Rashid comes and he also do that. When I cry or beg him to leave me he used to beat me with cane stick and forcefully does sexual course which always was very painful. I had nowhere to run. Whenever I tried to run from that house they all beat me and kept me hungry and in lock. Than one day on 12-05-14, I got a chance as they left the door opened, I slipped away from the house and ran towards the road, than on road I took rickshaw and asked him to leave me at my paternal Uncle’s house. I knew the address and he took me there. My aunt took me to the Police station but nobody listened. Then she took me to the office of Dawn news. The news channel did all the coverage and registered my FIR through DIG and he sent me to the Child protection Bureau. After this the family contacted the Voice for legal help and assistance.
The Voice’s findings: after the family i.e. Bholla the paternal uncle of Tarfa contacted The Voice and told The Voice that her brothers are threatening us for killing her and that they will put the blame of killing her on us. The Voice sent its fact finding team to the Police station for further information and received the copy of FIR and gave an application for the Medical of Tarfa and also Medical for the determination of her age. The Voice team met Tarfa in Child protection bureau and there she told us that it is not the first time this has happened to me. My brothers can do anything for the money, they can even kill you for money. They play gambling and whenever they lose small amount they did not pay, instead they send me to the man from whom they lost the game and money to spend a night with him. They always do this. Once they lost 50,000PKR and they sent me for two nights to the man who raped me and returned me in bad and torn condition. My body and soul was torn, I cannot explain the pain I always suffer. It always is new. Everyone do things(rape) with his own way, without even thinking that I am a human being and it hurts when they use their force on me. I cry or shout, it doesn’t matter. They just say that they have to cover up their lost amount from my brothers in my form.
The Voice after hearing this heart throbbing story took the custody of the girl from the Child protection bureau through her uncle and kept her in the safe custody. Bashir and Rashid are in Jail and their bails are pending in the courts of Additional Sessions Judge for 31st May. Whereas her brothers Shamaun and Asif are absconded from the police and police is finding them. The Voice is giving legal Aid and protection to the poor Orphan girl. Please pray for her so that she may recover the trauma and loss soon. And start believing in God and his people.
