Progress Report for The Voice’s Project of Education for Vulnerable Children 2018-2019

Free Education for the children of poor, orphans and child labour themselves is no less than a blessing. The Voice have started working on this project for providing free education to the orphans and poor children in 2012, that time we had just street schools. In 2017, we started off with having our first rented building/house for school officially with the help of Giving Hands and now The Voice is giving free education to more than 80 children under one roof. We are expecting more to come by the end of this year, roughly up to 100 as there is no more than a blessing for the kids working under strong sun in the summers and then coming to study and sit under the fan, in a room that is covered and presents an atmosphere of a classroom.

Many people can’t even visualise how it feels to study in open area under the sun at 45 degrees and in winters less than 2 degrees or more. The Voice took the initiative with the help of Giving Hands to provide an environment to receive education safely. However the staff of the school also take out some time to visit the parents and tell them about the importance and significance of education in this time of difficulty, hardships and persecution. The teachers also instils about the right to education for all the children no matter to what class do they belong.

This project not only helped them to receive education in a safe environment, saves them from hardships of the weather but also saves them from the dangers of being the victim of kidnapping and persecution. There are sometimes difficulties in reassuring the parents to encourage their children to attend regular school, but unfortunately they are very cantered with their own financial problems that they do not care about the future of their kids and avoid them sending to school. However it is always a challenge for the teachers to keep kids engaged in studying and to ensure the presence of children in school every day. The Voice team makes sure that the implementation of the project is in accordance with its proposal. So there is no difference between the proposal and its implementation.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

This is our faith statement for this project, as it is already mentioned that labour class children, orphans and street childern are the main target group of our project, and the Voice is not only providing them free education bjut have also extended this project in religious and spiritual education. As children do not learn much from their homes about the religion and thus they are more vulnerable towards evil and evil activities. The Voice have started giving them religious education by starting extra classes on Saturdays in the school so that the kids may also know thier religious values and recognise them selves. The teachers in our school are also targetting children who are not allowed from thier families to recieve education especially girls, but their families have agreed to send them to Sunday school for religious education on Saturdays.

The Voice team and teachers would request you to pray for the parents who still considers that girls are useless for them and they should not receive education. Our teachers are working hard with dedication to convince people about the significance of girl’s education and bring them to light. It is not possible with out the hardwork, dedication and prayers.

Note: The teacher that comes to teach kids about religion and gives them education about religion on Saturday for Sunday school, she comes free of cost with dedication and zeal of training children about their religion.
